Fertilization and Development. ... The sperm cells move through the uterus into the fallopian tube, where one sperm cell may fertilize the egg cell. The fertilization brings together 23 chromosomes from the male and 23 chromosomes from the female, resulting in the formation of a fertilizedegg cell with 46 chromosomes.

The germinal stage refers to the time from fertilization through the development of the early embryo until implantation is completed in the uterus. The germinal stage takes around 10 days. During this stage, the zygote begins to divide, in a process called cleavage.✌✌✌✌✌✌✌
