Types of Natural Vegetation in India

Tropical Evergreen Rain Forests.

Tropical rainforest. An area of the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. Tropical rainforest climate zones (Af). Amazon River rain forest in Peru. Daintree "rainforest" in Queensland is actually a seasonal tropical forest. Western lowland gorilla. The canopy at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia. 


Deciduous or Monsoon Type of Forests.

Monsoon forest, also called dry forestor tropical deciduous forest, open woodland in tropical areas that have a long dry season followed by a season of heavy rainfall.


Dry Deciduous Forests.

The South Deccan Plateau dry deciduous forestsis a dry broadleaf forest ecoregion of southern India.


Mountain Forests.

Mountain forests cover large proportions of (for example) the Alps, Pyrenees and Balkan and Carpathian mountain ranges in Europe, the Appalachian and Rocky mountain ranges in North America, the Australian Alps, the Guiana Highlands in South America, the mountains in Central Africa, and the Andes Mountain Range in South 


Tidal or Mangrove Forests.

Mangroves are a group of trees and shrubs that live in the coastal intertidal zone. There are about 80 different species of mangrove trees. Mangrove forests stabilize the coastline, reducing erosion from storm surges, currents, waves, and tides.
