- A Black hole is a region in the space from which nothing can escape.
- When outward (internally developed) pressure is not sufficient to overcome the gravitation force to star; gravitation collapse occurs. Hence massive star, at the end of its life cycle starts collapsing and become supernova. Finally it is turned into black hole.
- When black hole is formed it can continue to grow in mass by absorbing mass from surroundings and may become super massive black hole with millions of solar mass.
- At the centre of the most of the galaxies, black holes are found. At the center of our Akash Ganga galaxy a black hole of more than 4 million solar mass is present.
- There is a imaginary surface belt around hole, called event horizon. Which a warning marks of no return to anybody. Even the light reaching event horizon, get absorbed like a black body in thermodynamics, so it is called black.
- Temperature of a black hole is inversely proportional to its mass, hence it radiate (or emit energy) by small amount.
- Existence or presence of black hole can be concluded by observing its gravitational interaction with its surrounding celestial objects.
- Classification of black hole is based on their mass, electric charge and angular momentum.
