The Deccan plateau is the large in southern India . It rises upto 100m in the north and to more in 1000m in the south forming a raised triangle within the south pointing triangle of the indian subcontinent coastline.
The plateau is located between two mountain ranges the western ghats and the eastern ghats . It is separated by gangatic plain to the north by the satpura and vindhaya range
