Most Medieval Indian were peasants ,over 90%,but the divide between peasants and nobility was very clearcut .Clergy were also unimportant part of the social order during the middle age , thought they were not necessarily considered a separate class.
it may be divided into two periods the 'early mediaeval period 'which lasted from the 6th to the 13th century and the ' last mediaeval period' which lasted from the 13 to the 16th century ending with the start of the Mughal empire in 1526
