One of the most revolutionary social reforms of the Jacobin regime was the abolition of slavery in the French colonies. the colonies in Caribbean -Martinique, Guadeloupe and San Domingo -were the suppliers of commodities such as tobacco, indigo, sugar and coffee.
Political clubs became an important rallying point for people who wished to discuss government policies and plan their own form of action. The most successful of these club was that of Jacobins.
The members of the Jacobin club belonging mainly to less prosperous sections of society.
Jacobin included small keepers, artisans such as shoe makers, pastry cooks, watch-makers, printers as well as servants and daily wage workers.
