After a very long time, this month my family finally decided to go on vacation. I was super excited considering this was my turn to choose the destination.
In my family we have a ritual of some sort that we get turns in choosing destination spots, so this time its my turn. I finally got to exercise my right; and indeed i took full advantage by convincing everybody to choose India as my holiday destination.
As we set foot in India, i started taking in the crowd, the different colors, clothing, food, etc. We had landed in the state of Andhra Pradesh which according to me was an entirely different world of its own. Our tourist guide gave us some knowledge about this destinations' historical significance.
This state was commonly known by the same of 'rice bowl' due to the diversity of cultures residing here. This had previously been governed and ruled by many empires which had left their mark that later added to its culture, like the Mauryan Empire.
We visited various centers which were the places for the pilgrims. such as the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga at Srisailam and the Ameen Peer Dargah in Kadapa
Later on we went to see places of natural attractions like the hill stations in Araku Valley and before leaving we saw the island of Konaseema in the Godavari River delta.
It was like touring the entire India at once. The famous dishes over here was the best part, i never thought curd rice could ever taste so good. Also i hvae heard a lot about various types of biryani's however i tasted a better version of biryani in Andhra Pradesh which was called the Andhra Biryani.
I wish to go there again. By looking at the hyderabadi culture, the bangles, the mirrors on the clothing of women, etc., i felt what i had missed out on, for so long.
