Once there lived a small boy called Chintu. He used to live with his mother in a small hut. One day he asked his mother for a pencil, but his mother failed to buy it due to poverty. So he stole a pencil from his friend's bag. His mother came to know about the theft but did not scold or punish him for the theft. Slowly the boy started to steal things and his mother encouraged him. After few years the boy became a big tycoon and was arrested by the police and kept him behind the bars. His mother came to police station, the boy called her mother and asked her to put her ear near his mouth. His mother thought that her son is going to tell her about some hidden treasure and kept her ear near his mouth. Chintu bit his mother's ear and his mother started howling with pain. She asked him why is he doing so, then her son answered "It is you who spoiled me, you never stopped me from robbery but enjoyed hearing the thefts, so I bit your ear. You would have stopped me on the very day when I stole pencil from my friend's bag, now it is too late." Chintu repented.





Moral: spare the rod, spoil a child.
