Microevolution is also known as Sequential evolution that involves a continual and subtle change in reciprocal population, that gives rise usually to modern species and geographical and inter racial races. Fundamental process includes gene frequencies changes that occur in a population and varies from one generation to the next. It is produced by supporting or normalizing the selections and changes that occur naturally and operate in environmental conditions that are stable and these changes occur in short time span.

Example: Rowe has found numerous descent lines in sea urchin,  where he discovered continual and moderate change in species and characteristics from M. corbovis to that of M. coranguinum, the changes occur specifically in the shape of the shell, structure of oral opening and the form of ambulacra. The changes took place gradually in a stable environment. Similarly, Fenton has explained moderate replacement of one species in brachiopod.

Sequential evolution

Microevolution can also called Sequential evolution, microevolution involves a continuous and gradual change in an interbreeding population, usually giving rise to new subspecies and geographical races. Basic process involves changes in gene frequencies in a population from one generation to the next. Microevolution is produced by stabilizing or normalizing natural selections that operate in stable environmental conditions and in short time span.

while Evolution at its simplest involves relatively minor changes in the gene pool of a population from one generation to the next with corresponding modification in genotypic frequencies and range of phenotypic variation.Divergent evolution takes place when two separate species evolve differently from a common ancestor. ... Convergent evolution occurs when species have different ancestral origins but have developed similar features. A good example of convergent evolution is the similarities between the hummingbird and the hummingbird moth.
