Water pollution refers to the contamination of fresh water resources from mostly human genic pollutants. A lot of factors like industrialization, inefficient garbage disposal, littering etc could cause water pollution; however, the main contributor of water pollution is industrial waste disposal. A number of factories are set up near water bodies for the ease of operation and the waste produced by such factories as bumped into the water bodies. Waste like this is mostly a chemical waste and is extremely harmful if the water is consumed or used. Household waste lying on streets, mostly consisting of plastic also reaches the water bodies, washed by rain and wind. The examples stated only provide some of the reasons of water pollution.
