Answer:

global warming...

Long-term air pollution has resulted in certain changes in the environment. Scientists have found that average temperature on the earth has been steadily increasing over the years due to increase in the levels of gases, like carbon dioxide, being released into the environment.

Global warmingCarbon dioxide is released into air during respiration and burning of fuels. This carbon dioxide is in turn used by green plants for the process of photosynthesis. This is how carbon dioxide is recycled in nature so its levels remain almost the same. But now man is disturbing this natural balance The amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is increasing due to burning of a large amount of fuels and also due te massive deforestation.

Gases released from industries by burning of fossil fuels trap the sun's rays by reducing their reflection, thus keeping temperatures high. This is known as the greenhouse effect. A greenhouse is a glass structure used for growing plants in a cold climate. The glass lets sunlight in, but prevents heat from going out, keeping the inside warm. Similarly, the earth's atmosphere traps solar radiation, thus rasing the surface temperature. .
