Answer:
A symbiotic relationship exists between trees and humans since time immemorial. Humans breathe in oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide, while trees breathe in carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen.
Plants provide firewood and shade to human as well as fodders for his cattles. Trees also provide herbal medicines. Tree trunks and branches are used in rural areas to build shelters or houses. No wonder some communities worship trees or conduct religious rituals under trees like Peepal, Mango, Bunyan, Ashoka and Neem.
One similarity between humans and trees is missed by most people. Each tree, like each human, is unique and beautiful in its own way. The DNA and biometrics of a human is different from from any other human being in the entire world. In the same way it is impossible to find two trees which are exactly the same.
The coextensive between man and trees slowly changed with the passage of time. In the name of development trees were felled. Our forest cover decreased and so did the oxygen in the air we breathe. Man's greed lead to mass deforestation by the timber industries. Pollution is on the rise. In the absence of trees rainfall is uncertain. Cultivation becomes rather a matter of luck. Droughts and flash floods are increasing.
It's time humans take action to undo the damage and start planting trees on a war footing.
