  • Assisting and Advising the Governor:

The Chief Minister is the liaison between the Cabinet and the Governor. It is he who, in ,communicates  to the governor all the decisions of the Council of Ministers. You must provide the State Administration Information requested by the Governor. The Governor may refer to  the Council of Ministers for consideration any matter on which a Minister has made a decision  but which has not been dealt with by the Council of  Ministers.

  • The Chief Minister heads the Council of Ministers:

The other ministers are appointed by the Governor at the Council of Prime Ministers. Chief Minister has his hands free to compile the list of his peers. The governor may propose the names of persons  to be placed on the ministry, but may not insist that a person be placed on the ministry. The assignment of departments or departments to the ministers is made by the governor with advice from the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister can allocate and reorganize portfolios among  ministers.The activities of all ministers are coordinated, directed and controlled by the Chief Minister.

  • He presides over meetings of the Council of Ministers.
