The major impact was the introduction of Government of India act which abolished the rule of British East India Company and marked the beginning of British raj that bestowed powers in the hands of the British government to rule India directly through representatives.

when the east india company required sepoys to serve overseas which was against the sepoy's religion. Some effects of the rebellion was a bitter legacy and a mistrust on both sides. the rebellion also resulted in the brutal masscre of british men, women, and children.

Outcome of 1857 Revolt. The Revolt was suppressed. Sheer courage could not win against a powerful and determined enemy who planned its every step. The rebels were dealt an early blow when the British captured Delhi on 20 September 1857 after prolonged and bitter fighting.
