Prime Minister's Rozgar Yojana was launched on 2nd October 1993 to assist educated unemployed youth to set up self-employment ventures. The scheme targeted for setting up of nearly 7 lakh enterprises and consequent employment generation to more than one million educated unemployed youth in the last four years of the 8th Five Year Plan.
