For most trees and plants, it serves as the primary energy cycle. The carbon cycle could not exist without photosynthesis, life consuming oxygen would not survive and plants would eventually die.

Explanation:

It is a process where the plant converts solar / light energy into chemical energy. This process is carried out by green plants which have chlorophyll in them. It helps plants make their own starch factory from carbon dioxide. Photosynthesis helps in maintaining the food chain and release oxygen in the atmosphere. It is the most important process which runs the whole ecosystem.
