• In the story ,"accursed house", the protagonist tries to sell his inherited house at a much lesser than the previous owner, his uncle, whom he inherited it from.
• Though the villagers thought that  this bargain had some personal motive to it or the house had some bad quality which made it undesirable and hence, cheaper.

• The benevolence of the protagonist led to the ill-mouthing of his family name and cursed luck to his family.

• This shows the irony of the world, How his good deed was judged as a mere effort in exchange of something else.
