There are three main types of volcano- composite or strato, shield and dome. Composite volcanoes, sometimes known as strato volcanoes, are steep sided cones formed from layers of ash and [lava] flows. Theeruptions from these volcanoes may be a pyroclastic flow rather than a flow of lava.

Mainly there are 3 types of volcanos:
Active volcanos : Volcanoes which regularly erupts every 10,000 year.
Dormant Volcano : volcanos which has not erupted las 10000 year but has a possibility of
erupting .
Extinct Volcano: Volcanos which has not erupted last 10000 year and does not have any
possibility of erupting.
