Brief description of mentioned terms is as follows -

a) Nucleoid is the region present in prokaryotic cells. This region houses genetic material namely DNA. It differs from nucleus in absence of nuclear membrane enclosing the genetic material.

b) Cytoplasm is the jelly like substance filled in the cell. It houses cell organelles and is rich in various enzymes, metabolites, ions etc.

c) Genes formed by DNA are "the basic physical and functional unit of heredity". They are passed through generations and hold information about proteins and regulation of functions.
