acne is also commonly known as pimples.acne is a skin disorder which primarily affects the oil producing glands in the skin known as sebaceous glands.people of all ages get acne however it is more common in adolescents. nearly90 percent of people between puberty(13-18yrs)to 30 years experience some degree of acne.

our skin has oil producing sebaceous glands. oil produced by these glands passes through the hair follicle and reaches outer layer of the skin to provide lubricant and waterproofing.

●acne occurs when sebum flow is blocked and is not able to pass through the hair follicle. one of the primary reason of this blockage is abnormal keratinization(over production of dead skin cells)
