Rangoli is an art form popular in India, Nepal and Bangladesh and associated with Hindusim where various designs are drawn on the floor.

It is a social art since it is primarily done by women in groups during special occasions such as Diwali, TIhar, Onam and Pongal.

Due to it's association with festivities and the fact that the art requires a number of women to work together to beautify a place, it is a very social art which brings communities and families together.
