• Electromagnetic waves are transeverse waves (sound waves are longitudinal waves).
• Electromagnetic waves can travel through vacuum (sound waves always need a medium to travel).
• Electromagnetic waves travel at speed of light (sound waves are relatively slower).
• Speed of electromagnetic waves is lesser in solid medium (speed of sound is more in solid medium).
• Electromagnetic waves are polarizable (sound waves are not polarizable).
