miss doling was a very selfish and cunning lady. She was the keeper of all the possessions of the narrator. the narrators mother had given them all to miss doling when they migrated because of the deadly war. If fact it was miss doling who had renewed her relationship with the narrators mother knowing that they were shifting. It was done in a promise that miss doling would take care of all those possessions until the narrators family is back. but Mrs doling did not keep her word. when the narrator was back and asked miss doling all her possessions she refused to recognize her.it shows the greed and shrewd character of Mrs doling .she was not at all trust worthy.
