write the co ordinates of point where the lines of the equation x-y=-1 and 4x+3y=24 meet the x axis (without drawing the graph)

the value of y:4

rajeev131: x-y =-1 is first equation and 4x-3y =24 is second equation
rajeev131: multiply first equation with 3
rajeev131: then it would become 3x-3y=-3 let this be third equation
rajeev131: now add first equation and second equation now you eill get 7x=21
rajeev131: therefore x=21/7=3
rajeev131: now substitute this x value in first equation now you will get Y= 4
rajeev131: threfore x=3 and Y= 4
