anyways synecdoche means to express a word as a part of whole. For example
"Lord give us our daily bread". here the bread actually refers to the whole food.

metonymy means the uses of one object or concept to another. For example.
"The kettle is boiling" here the kettle isn't boiling but the thing inside the kettle is boiling.
