The solubility of vitamins can be in either fat (lipids) or water and this property determines its actions within the human body.

Vitamin A is found in whole milk and animal liver and aids in reproduction. Deficiency of vitamin A causes immunity related issues.

Vitamin D is found in fish and fish oil and is needed for development of bones. Its deficiency can lead to loss of bone density, causing bone fractures easily.

Vitamin E is found in nuts and certain vegetable oils is and required for the health of nerves and muscles. Deficiency of vitamin E can lead to nerve and muscle damage.

Vitamin K is found in abundance in green leafy vegetables. Deficiency of this vitamin may cause bleeding and bruising in newborns.
