STANDARD FORM of both questions are

e) 8/10000000= 8×10^-7

f) 1275/100000000 = 1.275× 10^-5

◆Since there are 7 zeroes followed by one in the DENOMINATOR , that is there are 7 10'S MULTIPLIED altogether, the power will be negative as it go above to NUMERATOR.

◆In the second question,

In standard form, they allows only ONE DIGIT before the DECIMAL POINT. All the four digits after decimal point COUNTS as each power.

◆Thus, 1275 becomes 1.275×10^3

(which is positive, since they are on NUMERATOR)

◆Number is written as

1275×10^-8 (as in first question) ,

turns to 1.275×10^3×10^-8

=1.275×10^-5

◆(as powers is ADDED when numbers are in MULTIPLICATION).

◆Hence the solution.
