The central irony in the poem Ozymandias is that the statue was intended to project the king's greatness. But, when the traveller sees the statue then it is not only shattered, but it lies in the midst of a wasteland. This shows that time is the power which can destroy everything with the passing of many and many years. That king shows his glory and power by his statue but that glory and power is destroyed or damaged with time. The statue is broken and is in between if the desert.
