Objectives of United Nations range from maintaining peace and security around the world to developing strong relations among the nations to help resolve issues pertaining to economic, social, cultural or any other issues.

The need for an organisation that could help resolve issues among countries without the need for war was felt after World War II.

This gave shape to the United Nation (UN) which was formed in 1945, with 51 countries as its members.

The UN is run by a special set of laws which are mentioned in the UN Charter, just like the constitution of the United States of America.
