the early bats looked like hockey sticks which had curve outwards at the butumn ..the reason for this is the ball was bowled underarm along the ground and the curve at the end of the bat gave the batsman the best chance of scoring

the early bats were like sticks which are now called as hockey sticks which had curve outwards at the bottom . There is interesting reason for this . This was all because the ball was bowled underarm along the ground and the curve at the end of the bat gave the batsman could score his best.
