The Great Indian Desert is mostly in the Royal Rajasthan states of India and extended in the different portion of Haryana, Punjab and Rann of Kutch in Gujurat.

A Camel is also known as the “Ship of the Desert” is the best way to explorer the Great Indian Desert.

In the City of Jaisalmer, the Desert National Park, It has the collection of fossils of animals and plants of 180 million years old. Some fossils of Dinosaurs of 6 million years old have also been found in the area.

The Great Indian Desert extended in the area, which is more than two lakh square kilometres.
Most of the Great Indian Desert is located to the south-west of the north Indian plain and to the west of Aravalli Mountain the region is also known as Rajasthan plain.

In the Great Indian Desert, there are some wildlife species, which are extended in the many parts of the India.
