The responsiveness of plants to given stimuli is are of two types
one is growth dependent which we call as tropic movement and the other is growth independent movement
while in case of animals there many types of responses
Plants have to respond without change their position ( of origin) but animals can respond by changing their position
Usually the responses of the plants are slow while the responses of animals are quite fast
