Two properties of colloidal solutions are-
1) Colloidal solutions shows Tyndall effect or Brownian movement.
2) Particles of colloidal solution do not settle due to gravity but they may settle due to Centrifugation.

Dispersed phase and Dispersion medium are the two components of colloidal solution.

HEY MATE

first we discuss what is colloid

=>> colloid is a heterogenous mixture  whoes particle are  not as small as solution but they are so small that can not be seen by naked eyes . One substance can be the dispersion medium, such as water or gas. The other is kind of dispersed medium and  the size of the solute particles is between 1 nm (10-9 m) to 100 nm.

example  = ,  flog, cloud, milk and flor , water and salt  etc

components

Dispersed phase

The solute-like component or the dispersed particles in a colloid form the dispersed phase.

Dispersing medium

The component in which the dispersed phase is suspended is known as the dispersing medium.

properties of colloid  =

• It is a heterogeneous mixture having particle size between 1 nm to 100 nm.

• Size of particles is very small, cannot be seen with naked eyes.

• It scatters a beam of light.

• They are stable as the particles do not settle when left undisturbed.
