Write types of friction with two eamples each.
Answers
Answer:
friction is a force acting parallel to the surface and offering resistance to motion.
friction is of 4 types.
static friction
sliding friction
rolling friction
fluid friction (drag)
Explanation:
1) static friction: when a body from rest starts to move then the force which opposes its movement is called static friction.
eg. car from rest to movement, surface of road provide friction.
2)sliding friction : when an object is in motion, the force which is continuously opposing its movement is called sliding friction.
eg. car moves on a road due to friction. but if oil is applied on road, the tyres of car will slip due to less friction.
3) rolling friction : friction offered by one surface on other when one object rolls on the surface of other is called rolling friction.
eg. car wheels roll on the road. road offer resistance to the car wheels.
4) fluid friction : friction offered by fluid (air or water) when any object moves in them is called fluid friction.
friction offered by air is called drag.
eg. areoplane flies in the air in sky due to friction.
we can fly kites due to frictional forces.
