Rainy season falls after the summer season and offers the much needed respite from the scorching summer heat. It is welcomed with joy and happiness. The cool rain showers are a perfect way to rejuvenate after bearing the sun for almost 3 months.
At the onset of the rainy season, the sky becomes cloudy, cool wind begins to blow and sun is rarely visible. However, it does shine brightly every now and then as the clouds keep moving at a steady speed. It is then that people get to know that the monsoon is soon to arrive. People eagerly await the rains and are delighted when the rainy season finally arrives.
Rainy season is given a lot of importance especially in India. People wait for this season all year round and are pleased at its arrival. Lord Indra is considered to be the God of rain and people pray to him to shower his blessings on earth in the form of rain. They thank him for blessing the mother earth with rain showers.Besides the rejuvenating experience it renders to the people, the rainy season also comes as a respite for the trees and plants. The summer heat dries the earth and the plants become almost lifeless. Rain showers give them life once again and there is greenery all around.
Rainy season is important for people of all generations. It works as a stress buster amid the daily grind. It especially holds importance for the farmers as the rains help the crops grow and bloom. In the times when there is scarcity of water all round, the rainy season has become all the more significant.
