❄ IN THESE TYPE OF NUMERICALS WE HAVE TO SQUARE THE BOTH SIDES, WHEN THE QUESTION WANTS THE VALUE OF x+1/x².

❄ Then proceed by using the formula (a+b)² = a²+2ab+b²

❄ Ultimately, we will get our final amswer.

==================================

Given, (x+1/x) = 4.

Squaring both sides, we get :

(x+1/x)² = 4²
=> (x)²+2×(x)×(1/x)+(1/x)² = 16
=> x²+1/x² = 16-2 or 14 [Ans.]

Given (x+1/x)=4

x^2+1/x^2

Applying the formula of a^2+b^2

(x+1/x)^2-2x×1/x

=4^2-2

=16-2

=14

Hope this helps please mark me as brainliest
