x - 2y = - 10

=> 3x - 6y = - 30 -------(1)

3x - 5y = - 12 --------(2)

On subtracting equation 1 from 2, we get

-5y + 6y = - 12 + 30

=> y = 18

On substituting the value of y in equation (1), we get

x - 36 = - 10

=> x = 26

Given,

x - 2y = -10 × 3

3x - 5y = -12 × 1
--------------------
3x - 6y = -30
3x - 5y = -12
-------------------
y = 18

Substitute y in eq 1

x - 2 (18) = -10

x - 36 = -10

x = -10 + 36

x = 26
