This question messes up with laws of maths.
(a-b)^2=a^2-2ab+b^2
Thus (x-4)^2=x^2-8x+16

Hey Friend ☺
☆ FACTORISATION ☆
( a + b )^2 = ( a )^2 + 2 ( a )( b ) + ( b )^2
Using above identity the given expression can be expanded as
( x - 4 )^2 = ( x )^2 + 2 ( x ) ( - 4 ) + ( - 4 )^2
= x^2 - 8x + 16
So you have to write middle term that is the error
