( x - 5)^2 - 5(x-5) - 24

Let x - 5 =a

= a^2 - 5a - 24

= a^2 - 8a + 3a - 24

= a (a-8) + 3(a-8)

= (a+3)(a-8)

= (x - 5 +3)(x-5 - 8)

= (x - 2)(x-13)

Given (x-5)²-(5x-25)-24

= x²-10x+25-5x+25-24

= x²-15x+26

Splitting the middle term,

= x² - 2x - 13x + 26

= x(x-2)-13(x-2)

= (x-2)(x-13)

Therefore ,

( x-2) , (x-13) are two factors.
