first train from x moving with rate 20 km/hr

second train from y moves with rate 30 km/hr

in each hour they both covers , 20+30 = 50 km

total distance = 500 km

so , 500 / 50 = 10 hours

after 10 hour they cross or meet with each other

so in 10 hours , the train moving from x with speed 20 km/hr covers 20 × 10 = 200 km distance

so at 200 km from x they both cross each other

The correct answer is 200km.

Let assume that the train meets at  x km from X

⇒  \frac{x}{20} = \frac{(500-x)}{30}

⇒ 30x = 10000 - 20x

⇒ x = 200 km.

Hence, the trains will meet at 200 km from x.
