Given,

x+y = 4 -------------equ.1

2x-5y = 1 -----------equ.2

Multiply equ.1 with 2

So, we get

2x + 2y = 8

2x - 5y = 1

By Elimination Method,

7y = 7

y = 1

Substituting y = 1 in any one if the Equations,

we get,

x + 1 = 4

So,

x = 3

Hence we got the values of x and y.

x = 3

y = 1
