 {x}^{2}  - x - 2 = 0 \\  {x}^{2}  - x = 2 \\  {x}^{2}  - x +  { (\frac{1}{2} )}^{2}  = 2 +  {( \frac{1}{2} )}^{2}  \\  {(x +  \frac{1}{2}) }^{2}  = 2 +  \frac{1}{2}  \\  {(x +  \frac{1}{4}) }^{2}  =  \frac{8 + 1}{4}  \\ x +  \frac{1}{2}  =  \sqrt{ \frac{9}{4} }  \\ x +  \frac{1}{2}  =  \frac{3}{2}  \\ x =  \frac{3}{2}  -  \frac{1}{2}  \\ x =  \frac{3 - 1}{2}  \\ x =  \frac{2}{2}  \\ x = 1
