Solution :
Compare given Quadratic equation
x²-3x-2= 0 with ax²+bx+c= 0,we get
a = 1, b = -3 , c = -2
Discreminant (D) = b²-4ac
= (-3)² - 4×1×(-2)
= 9 + 8
D = 17
******************************************
We know the quadratic formula:
x = [ -b ± √D ]/(2a)
***********************†******************
x = [ -(-3) ± √17 ]/( 2 × 1 )
x = ( 3 ± √17 )/2
