- ⟹ y = 2x – 2___(i)
Now
★⟹ x + 3y = 15____(ii)

- x + 6x – 6 = 15
- ⟹ 7x = 21
- ⟹ x = 3____(iii)
★Substituting the value of x from (iii) in (i), we get
- y = 2 × 3 – 2 = 4
- ∴ x = 3 and y = 4
★Hence x = 3 and y = 4
