Hey!!!

That's easy

=> y² + y - 6 = 0

=> y² + 3y - 2y - 6 = 0

=> y(y + 3) -2(y + 3) = 0

=> (y - 2)(y + 3) = 0

=> y = 2 or y = -3

Hope this helps

y^2 + y-6 =0
y^2 +3y - 2y -6=0
y ( y + 3 ) - 2( y+3 ) = 0
(y-2)(y+3) =0
y= 2
y=-3
