take a piece of iron and take another magnetic material. now stroke the bar magnet in one direction only.without lifting the bar magnet move it along the length of material now lift the bar magnet and bring the same pole to the same point of the iron piece from where you have started.repeat this process for 30 -40 minutes. now your magnet is ready.

An unmagnetized piece if iron can be magnitized by rubbing with a permanent bar magnet.

• take a rectangular piece of iron. place it on the table

• now take a bar magnet and place one of it's poles near one edge of the bar of iron

• without lifting the bar magnet, move it along the length of the iron bar till u reach the other end

now lift the magnet bringing the pole to the same point of the iron bar from which you began.

• repeat this process about 30-40 times.

• check whether it has became a magnet , if not continue the process for some more time
