Hey mate,
As you may know, there's no direct way to measure the thickness of the thread.

1. Wrap the thread around a little rod so that all turns are very close to each other adding to its thickness.
2. Now measure the thickness of the thread loop.
3. If l is thickness of the loop of n turns diameter of the thread will be
Diameter = l/n
