you are given an unknown salt. how will you identify the nature of these salt, that is, whether it is acidic, basic or neutral?

Table salt which is sodium chloride is no an acid or basic. But a salt, as it is formed by the replacement of the H++ ion in hydrochloric acid by sodium ion. If it is basic, the indicator will turn blue but it will turn green as salts. Usually neutral.

We can make a solution of the salt and water. After that we can use a litmus paper.If a blue litmus paper turns red it’s an acidic salt. If the red litmus paper turns blue it is a basic salt.
