When marble chips are added with dilute HCl (hydrochloric acid), then the reaction will give calcium chloride, water, and carbon dioxide.

When Zinc granules are added to dilute HCl, then zinc will replace hydrogen from the acid to form zinc chloride and hydrogen gas is released.

This reaction is also referred to simple displacement reaction.
