Two women were abducted by the fisherman of Nabukelevu near the reefs late last evening where the women were fishing. Sources say that the incident happened when the fishermen saw the women and immediately jumped into the water from their canoe to abduct them.
The abducted women were from the royal family - one was the wife of the Chief of Namuana Tinaicoboga and the other, their daughter princess Raudalice. The chief witness in this abduction case, who is also the reporter of the news, told the news agency that the fishermen arrived in their war canoe and as soon as they saw the women, jumped into the water and abducted them. The women pleaded the fishermen to leave them alone but the latter paid no heed.
Search operation is on and the chief of Namuana announced prize money for anybody who could help with tracing the women.
